بحسنِهِ كيفَ يُعبَدُ الصنمُ
I have a bewitching master who teaches me
I have a charming master who teaches me
Through his beauty how an idol is worshipped.

لماwhen رآنيhe saw me وفيand in يديmy hand قلمٌa pen
لما رآني وفي يدي قلمٌ
لمdid not يَدْرِknow مولايmy lord أيُّناwhich of us القلمُthe pen
لم يَدْرِ مولاي أيُّنا القلمُ
When he saw me with a pen in my hand,
When he saw me with a pen in my hand
My lord could not tell which of us was the pen.
My master knew not which of us was the pen
