إليكَ قولاً سَديداً

يروي العِطاشَ بمائِهْ

يروي العِطاشَ بمائِهْ

Here is a sound saying for you,

To you I impart these words of truth

Quenching the thirsty with its water:

That quench all thirst with their waters

إن الخِراجَ خُراجٌ

إن الخِراجَ خُراجٌ

دواؤُه في أدائِهْ

دواؤُه في أدائِهْ

Indeed, the tax is an abscess;

Taxation is but an obligation

Its cure lies in paying it.

Whose remedy lies in its payment
