وحلاوةُ الدُّنيا تذاقُ بفيهِ

O you, of whose qualities all beauty is but a part,

And in whose mouth the sweetness of the world is tasted:

لا تمرضن جسمي فإنَّكَ روحهُ

لا تمرضن جسمي فإنَّكَ روحهُ

لا تُحْرِقَنْ قلبي فإنَّكَ فيه

لا تُحْرِقَنْ قلبي فإنَّكَ فيه

Do not sicken my body, for you are its soul;

Do not burn my heart, for you are within it.
