وكم خداعٍ قد تَمَحَّلْتُهُ

وكم خداعٍ قد تَمَحَّلْتُهُ

How many a stratagem for union I have employed,

And how many a deception I have contrived!

أُسِرُّ حَسْواً في ارتغاءٍ إذا

أُسِرُّ حَسْواً في ارتغاءٍ إذا

ناجَيْتُ مَنْ أهوى فقبَّلْتُهُ

ناجَيْتُ مَنْ أهوى فقبَّلْتُهُ

I hide a sip under the guise of sipping froth, when

I whisper to the one I love, then kiss him.
