Abu Sulayman, travel the earth, then settle.
O Abu Suleiman, journey through the land and stay,
For you are with me, whether your dwelling is near or far.
For with me your abode is near, be it hills or plains.
ماnot أنتَyou غيريother than me فأخشىso I should fear أنthat أُفارِقَهُI part from him
فديتُI would ransom روحَكَyour soul بلrather رُوحيmy soul فأنتَfor you أناI
You are not someone other than myself, whom I should fear to part from.
You’re none but me, for I fear to part with you,
I would ransom your soul—rather, my own soul—for you are me.
I sacrifice my soul for you, nay, my very soul, for you are I.
