إِلا أخ للانس أخِيَّه
I have companions, and none among them
Brothers I have, and naught between them
is anything but a brother, a tether for fellowship.
Save a soul's brother to kindred soul,
وماand there is nothing لجمعfor gathering الشملthe company مناof us سوىexcept
وما لجمع الشمل منا سوى
راحwine صراحpure; unmixed فيin صُراحيَّهa wine decanter
راح صراح في صُراحيَّه
And nothing gathers our company together except
And naught for our reunion suffices
pure wine in a decanter.
But an earnest heart from all guile free.
