رَعى اللهُ ذهْلاً حيث أَمَّت ركائبُهْ

رَعى اللهُ ذهْلاً حيث أَمَّت ركائبُهْ

وأَنى ثَوى سارَ في اليُمن صاحِبهْ

وأَنى ثَوى سارَ في اليُمن صاحِبهْ

May God guard Dhuhl wherever his riding camels head,

God shepherded Dhuhl when his riders headed

And wherever he lodges, his companion travels in good fortune.

And wherever he wandered in Yemen with his friend

وسَقْياً لهُ من سيّدِ كلَّ ليلةٍ

وسَقْياً لهُ من سيّدِ كلَّ ليلةٍ

ويومٍ تسْقّينا سجالاً سحائبُه

ويومٍ تسْقّينا سجالاً سحائبُه

And may he receive rain from a lord every night,

And watered for him from the master of every night

And day, as his clouds water us in bucketfuls.

And day whose clouds water us clashes

عنايُته بالغيْب فينا وعنْدنا

عنايُته بالغيْب فينا وعنْدنا

فضائلهُ مشهورةٌ ومَواهبُهْ

فضائلهُ مشهورةٌ ومَواهبُهْ

His care is with us in his absence, and among us

His care for the unseen is in us and with us

His virtues and his gifts are renowned.

His virtues are well-known and his gifts

أَراد لبيْتِ الله حَجّاً وحجُّهُ

أَراد لبيْتِ الله حَجّاً وحجُّهُ

لدينا مُبينٌ ليْس تَخْفى مناقبُهْ

لدينا مُبينٌ ليْس تَخْفى مناقبُهْ

He intended a pilgrimage to the House of God, and his pilgrimage

He wanted for God's House pilgrimage and his pilgrimage

Is clear to us; his virtues are not hidden.

For our religion is clear, his virtues are not hidden from us

أكلُّ يمانٍ في البسالةِ والنَّدى

أكلُّ يمانٍ في البسالةِ والنَّدى

كذُهلٍ إذا الأزديُّ عدتْ ضَرائبُهْ

كذُهلٍ إذا الأزديُّ عدتْ ضَرائبُهْ

Is every Yemeni, in valor and generosity,

Every Yemeni is brave and generous

Like Dhuhl, when the Azdi's peers are counted?

Like Dhuhl when the Azdi turned back his raids

أَبو الحَسن الموجود في كل مَذْهبٍ

أَبو الحَسن الموجود في كل مَذْهبٍ

من المجدِ محموداً كراماً مذاهبُهْ

من المجدِ محموداً كراماً مذاهبُهْ

Abu al-Hasan, found on every path

Abu Al-Hassan is present in every doctrine

Of glory, praised, with noble ways.

Praised for his glory, his ways are generous

فتي شبَّ بينَ الجود والحلْم والحجَى

فتي شبَّ بينَ الجود والحلْم والحجَى

إلى أن تناهت في الأمور تجاربُهْ

إلى أن تناهت في الأمور تجاربُهْ

A youth who grew up amid generosity, forbearance, and wisdom,

A young man grew between generosity, forbearance and wisdom

Until his experience in affairs reached full maturity.

Until his experiences in matters reached their limits

فأصبح معلومَ الكمال مُهذَّباً

فأصبح معلومَ الكمال مُهذَّباً

مؤثَّرةً في المكرماتِ غرائبُهْ

مؤثَّرةً في المكرماتِ غرائبُهْ

So he became known for his perfection, refined,

So he became known for his perfected manners

His rare feats marked out among noble deeds.

His strange acts have effect in noble deeds

وعَمَّت اياديه وفاقت صفاتُهُ

وعَمَّت اياديه وفاقت صفاتُهُ

وسَادت مساعيه وطابت مكاسبُهْ

وسَادت مساعيه وطابت مكاسبُهْ

His favors spread everywhere, and his qualities excelled,

His hands spread and his virtues surpassed

And his endeavors rose supreme, and his gains were pure.

His efforts prevailed and his gains were pure

جزى الله ذُهلاً كلَّ خير وبوركت

جزى الله ذُهلاً كلَّ خير وبوركت

عُلاه وفازتْ بالنجاح مطالبُهْ

عُلاه وفازتْ بالنجاح مطالبُهْ

May God reward Dhuhl with every good, and blessed be

May God reward Dhuhl with all good and bless

His eminence, and may his aims attain success.

His ascent and his requests were successful

وعاش بنوهُ عيشةً يبْلغُونها

وعاش بنوهُ عيشةً يبْلغُونها

بها امَلاً مستْجمِلاتٍ عواقبُهْ

بها امَلاً مستْجمِلاتٍ عواقبُهْ

And may his sons live a life they attain,

And may his sons live a life they desire

Through which they reach a hope whose outcomes are fair.

Hoping for beautiful consequences from him

وساعَدَهمْ سعْدُ الزّمان وقبَلت

وساعَدَهمْ سعْدُ الزّمان وقبَلت

عوائدهُ الحُسنْى وَوَّلَتْ نوائبُهْ

عوائدهُ الحُسنْى وَوَّلَتْ نوائبُهْ

And may time's good fortune aid them, and may there come

And may the luck of time help them and accept

Its gracious favors, while its calamities turn away.

His good returns and turn away his misfortunes

وعادلهم عيدُ السَّلامة والعُلى

وعادلهم عيدُ السَّلامة والعُلى

لدى كلّ عام ما استَقَلَت كواكبُهْ

لدى كلّ عام ما استَقَلَت كواكبُهْ

And may the festival of well-being and eminence return to them

And may the Eid of safety and highness do them justice

Each year, so long as its stars rise aloft.
