And now I find no tear can heal the soul's burning grief
I have become one whose burning soul is not cured
unless it flows freely and pours down.
By tears unless generously poured and overflowing.

Except, my life, the abode of the Living I seek
heavy morning clouds from the rain-season of the two Simāk stars;
Valleys watered from the celestial stream being poured.

all together, before separation had cast us away.
Never separated and cast off from each other.

With it I would meet gazelles like statues -
cherished girls of equal age, delicate and radiant.
Maidens, gentle, their veils being lifted.

the mounts of idle pleasure, young and full-grown,
Riding she-camels, smooth flanks, trotting and ambling.

A land of perdition, inhabited and settled.

How can I attain passion after the mounts of youth
youth's mounts are weary and exhausted for me?
From me have become wild mares, yearning and craving?

What stirs longing or splits open sorrow

As if tears pour copiously without cease.

And describe a transgressor of passion, one seeking diversion.

Roaming the land, rambling and peregrinating.
