لَقَدindeed نَسَخَتhave superseded الحَانُكَyour melodies اللَّحنَthe melody كُلَّهُall of it
لَقَد نَسَخَت الحَانُكَ اللَّحنَ كُلَّهُ
كماjust as كانwas للجزئينfor the two parts يوجدis found ناسخُa superseder
كما كان للجزئين يوجد ناسخُ
Your melodies have indeed superseded all melody,
Your melodies have copied every tune
just as a superseder was found for the two parts.
As the whole was found in either section
وانشَدَand recited فِيكَabout you الحَالُthe circumstance وَالحَالُand the circumstance واضحٌclear
وانشَدَ فِيكَ الحَالُ وَالحَالُ واضحٌ
إذَاwhen صَرصَرscreeched البَازِىthe hawk فَلاَthen no دِيكَrooster صَارخُcrying out
إذَا صَرصَر البَازِى فَلاَ دِيكَ صَارخُ
And circumstance sang of you—and circumstance is clear:
The moment sang in you, bright and boon
When the hawk screeches, no rooster crows.
When the falcon rasps, roosters make no objection
