مَدَّاحَO lavish praiser خَيرِthe best of الوَرَىhumankind لاmay not زِلتَyou cease to be مَحسُودَاenvied
مَدَّاحَ خَيرِ الوَرَى لا زِلتَ مَحسُودَا
وَجنَّبَand may He keep away اللهُGod عَنكَfrom you الأزمنَthe times السُّوَداdark
وَجنَّبَ اللهُ عَنكَ الأزمنَ السُّوَدا
O praiser of the best of humankind, may you ever be envied.
Praise the best of mankind ever envied
And may God keep dark times away from you.
And may God spare you from evil times
لوif كَانَwere داودُDavid فيin الدنياthis world لكنتَthen you would be بلاwithout
لو كَانَ داودُ في الدنيا لكنتَ بلا
شكٍّdoubt ولوeven if حَسَدَenvied الحُسَّادُthe envious دَاوُدَاDavid
شكٍّ ولو حَسَدَ الحُسَّادُ دَاوُدَا
If David were in this world, you would be, without
If David lived today no doubt you'd be
a doubt, David—even if the envious felt envy.
Though the envious envy even David
