O Ahmad of justice and benevolence, greetings to you!
And may you gain whatever good things of rule you desire!

When you set out, journeying toward the west,
A herald of joy called, "Come toward it!"

So you were the most praiseworthy of those who had held its command;
You fulfilled the duties of rule there when you came.

You placed its people in their proper stations—may you ever do so—
Therein: henceforth, either obscurity or renown.

There you adorned the appointed times with rubies.

And you trod upon the head of whoever came as an aggressor,
And his neck, with the tread of the mighty, when you were given command.

And the Muslims fare well as long as they have you;
So may God firmly establish that good!
