لَقَدindeed نَسَجَتwove عَلَيكِover you قِدماًlong ago عَنَاكِبُكyour spiders
Afirn, when will your shoulders be set ablaze?
When will your shoulders cease to bear their burden as captives do?
Indeed, your spiders wove their webs over you long ago.
Your steps have woven for you this long chain of patience.
وحُيِيتand you were greeted مِنَby غَادٍa morning traveler إِلَيكِto you ورَائِحٍand an evening traveler
وعُدتِand you returned كَمَاas قَدalready كُنتِyou were إِنَّindeed ورَاكِبُكand your rider
And you were greeted by travelers coming to you in the morning and evening.
Though you were summoned from a perfumed place to this prison,
And you returned as you once were—indeed, and your rider...
Yet you have returned as noble as you ever were; your spirit unbroken.
