The East cast forth from the lands of al-Hiyad

a mighty sea, immense and overflowing,

toward our lands—how splendid is what

the East has cast forth from the lands of al-Hiyad!

With Iffah, our land has become fertile,

swaying gracefully in her loose-fitting gown.

So it flourished and grew resplendent with fresh green plants

    and gardens encircled by gardens.
