Coordinating a time expression with a place adverbial seemed permissible

To some, while others never held that view.

Those who accepted it did so because both share

Adverbial function, since they claimed it appeared in the Qur’an.

And those who rejected it reinterpreted this; in their view,

In poetry or the Reminder, this had not occurred,

Because all time nouns regularly take the accusative

As adverbials, whereas place nouns do not always do so.

The reverse case has the reverse ruling; al-Ṣabbān set this out,

An elucidator of whatever had eluded grasp in abstruse learning.
