تُهابُ ولم تَصعُب عَلَيه المَراكِبُ
When he resolved, he feared no gloom of night
When his purpose was fixed, he feared not the darkness of night,
That inspires dread; nor did the mounts prove difficult for him.
Nor did the ascent dishearten him.

He fed worry with firm resolve when it came as a guest, and so
He made the misfortunes his neighbors, when he saddled his sorrows,
His dwellings became places where foxes prowled by night.
So that foxes shared with him his halting-place.
