Among friends, I love every accommodating companion,

And everyone who averts his gaze from my missteps,

Who agrees with me in every matter I desire,

And protects me in life and after my death.

Who, then, can find me such a friend? If only I could find him,

Then I would share with him the good deeds I have.

I examined my friends, and only a few of them,

Despite their great number, were worthy of trust.
