قد أطلتم في العذلِ والتنقيدِ

قد أطلتم في العذلِ والتنقيدِ

بِهوى السيّدِ الإمامِ السّديدِ

بِهوى السيّدِ الإمامِ السّديدِ

You have gone on at length with reproach and criticism

You have prolonged the blame and criticism

For love of the lord, the upright Imam.

Out of love for the just Imam, the upright master

يوم قامَ النبيُّ في ظلّ دَوْحٍ

يوم قامَ النبيُّ في ظلّ دَوْحٍ

والورى في وديقةٍ صَيخودِ

والورى في وديقةٍ صَيخودِ

On the day the Prophet stood in the shade of spreading trees,

The day when the Prophet stood in the shade of Dhu-l Hulayfa

While the people were in scorching midday heat,

While creation slumbered in the cradle of carelessness

رافعاً كفّه بيُمنى يديه

رافعاً كفّه بيُمنى يديه

بايحاً باسمه بصوتٍ مديدِ

بايحاً باسمه بصوتٍ مديدِ

Raising his hand with his right hand,

Raising his hand with his right hand

Proclaiming his name in a sustained voice:

Proclaiming loudly his name with an extended voice

أيّها المسلمون هذا خَليلي

أيّها المسلمون هذا خَليلي

ووَزيري ووارثي وعقيدي

ووَزيري ووارثي وعقيدي

O Muslims, this is my close friend,

"O you who have faith! This is my brother

And my minister, and my heir, and my sworn ally,

My minister, my heir, and my confidant

وابنُ عمّي إلاّ فمن كنت مولا

وابنُ عمّي إلاّ فمن كنت مولا

هُ فهذا مَولاه فارعَوا عُهودي

هُ فهذا مَولاه فارعَوا عُهودي

And my cousin. Take heed: whoever I am master

And the son of my uncle, so whoever I am his master

of—this man is his master; so honor my covenants.

This is his master, so be true to my covenant"

وعليٌّ منٍّي بمنزلِ هارونَ

وعليٌّ منٍّي بمنزلِ هارونَ

بنِ عمرانَ من أخيهِ الوَدودِ

بنِ عمرانَ من أخيهِ الوَدودِ

And Ali is to me as Harun,

And Ali is to me in the position of Aaron

Son of Imran, was to his loving brother.

The son of Imran to his brother full of love
