أتيناكwe have come to you ياO قَرْمَchief of أهلِthe people of العراقِIraq
أتيناك يا قَرْمَ أهلِ العراقِ
بخيرٍwith the best كتابٍletter منfrom القائمِal-Qāʾim
بخيرٍ كتابٍ من القائمِ
We have come to you, O chief of the people of Iraq,
We came to you, O Qaram, people of Iraq
With the finest letter from al-Qāʾim.
With the best letter from Al-Qa'im
أتيناكَwe have come to you منfrom عندِthe presence of خَيرthe best of الأنامhumankind
أتيناكَ من عندِ خَير الأنام
وذاكand that one ابنson of عمِّthe paternal uncle of أبيAbū (father of) القاسمِal-Qāsim
وذاك ابن عمِّ أبي القاسمِ
We have come to you from the best of humankind,
We came to you from the best of mankind
And he is the cousin of Abū al-Qāsim.
And he is the cousin of Abul Qasim
أتيناكَwe have come to you بعهدِكَwith your commission منfrom عِندِهhis presence
أتيناكَ بعهدِكَ من عِندِه
علىover منthose who يَليكare near you منamong العالَمِthe world
على من يَليك من العالَمِ
We have come to you with your commission from him,
We came to you with your covenant from him
Over those around you in the world.
For those who succeed you in the world
يُولّيكَhe entrusts you with فيهin it جسامَweighty الأمورِaffairs
يُولّيكَ فيه جسامَ الأمورِ
فأنتَfor you are صَنيعُa protégé of بنيthe sons of هاشمِHāshim
فأنتَ صَنيعُ بني هاشمِ
In it he entrusts you with weighty affairs,
To make you in charge of important affairs
For you are a protégé of the sons of Hāshim,
For you are the making of Banu Hashim
منof العِترةthe kindred البَرَّةِrighteous المُصطَفَينthe chosen ones
من العِترة البَرَّةِ المُصطَفَين
علىabove مَنthose who سَماrose high منamong بنيthe sons of آدمِAdam
على مَن سَما من بني آدمِ
Of the righteous kindred, chosen
From the righteous chosen family
Above those who have risen high among Adam's sons.
Over those who reached the highest among the children of Adam
