قيمُ النارِ ذاك لها وذا لي
ذَريهleave him إنّهindeed he ليfor me ذوpossessed of وِدادِaffection
ذَريه إنّه لي ذو وِدادِ
The keeper of the Fire: “That one is hers, and this one mine;
The fire's worth is for it, and this is for me
Leave him, for he bears me affection.”
His offspring, he is to me, one of affection
يُقاسمهاhe divides with her فينصفُهاand treats her fairly فَترضىso she is content
يُقاسمها فينصفُها فَترضى
مقاسمةَthe dividing of المعادِلِthe equitable one غيرَnot عادa transgressor
مقاسمةَ المعادِلِ غيرَ عاد
He divides with her and treats her fairly, so she is content,
He shares it, so it pleases by his fairness
Dividing as a just man, not a transgressor,
Unlike the sharing of the unjust tyrant
كماjust as انتقدَtested الدراهمَthe dirhams صيرفيُّa money changer
كما انتقدَ الدراهمَ صيرفيُّ
ينقِّيhe separates out الزائفاتِthe counterfeit ones منfrom الجيادِthe genuine ones
ينقِّي الزائفاتِ من الجيادِ
Just as a money changer tested the dirhams,
As the money-changer rejects the coins
Separating the counterfeit coins from the genuine.
Clearing the counterfeit from the genuine
