لأَقْدَمِ أمّتِه الأَولينَ

لأَقْدَمِ أمّتِه الأَولينَ

هُدىً ولأَحديِهمْ مَوْلِدا

هُدىً ولأَحديِهمْ مَوْلِدا

The foremost among the first of his community

To the earliest community of his people

in guidance, and the youngest of them by birth,

He was a guide, and to one of them a birth

دعاهُ ابنُ آمنةَ المُصطفى

دعاهُ ابنُ آمنةَ المُصطفى

وكان رشيدَ الهُدى مُرْشِدا

وكان رشيدَ الهُدى مُرْشِدا

was called by the Chosen One, Amina’s son,

The son of Amina called him Al-Mustafa

who was rightly guided and a guide,

And he was the right-guided guide

إلى أن يُوحّدَ ربَّ السما

إلى أن يُوحّدَ ربَّ السما

تعالى وجَلَّ وأن يَعْبُدا

تعالى وجَلَّ وأن يَعْبُدا

to affirm the oneness of the Lord of heaven,

Until he unified the Lord of the heavens

exalted and majestic, and to worship Him.

Exalted and Majestic is He, and worshipped

فلبّاه لما دَعاه إليهِ

فلبّاه لما دَعاه إليهِ

ووحَّده مثلما وحّدا

ووحَّده مثلما وحّدا

So he answered him when he called him to Him,

So he responded when he called him to it

and affirmed His oneness, just as he had done.

And unified Him as they had unified

وأخبره أنّه مُرْسَلٌ

وأخبره أنّه مُرْسَلٌ

فقالَ صدقتَ وما فنّدا

فقالَ صدقتَ وما فنّدا

And he told him that he was a messenger,

And informed him that he was a messenger

so he said, “You speak the truth,” and did not dispute it.

So he said you spoke the truth and did not dispute

فصلّى الصلاةَ وصامَ الصيامَ

فصلّى الصلاةَ وصامَ الصيامَ

غلاماً ووافى الوغى أمردا

غلاماً ووافى الوغى أمردا

So he performed the prayer and observed the fast

So he prayed the prayers and fasted the fasts

as a boy, and entered battle while still beardless.

As a boy and met the tumult as a grown man

فلم يرى يوماً كأيّامِهِ

فلم يرى يوماً كأيّامِهِ

ولا مثلَ مشهدهِ مَشهدا

ولا مثلَ مشهدهِ مَشهدا

Never was a day seen like his days,

So he did not see a day like his days

nor a scene of battle like his.

Nor a scene like his scene, a scene
