إن كنتَ من شيعةَ الهادي أبي حسنٍ

إن كنتَ من شيعةَ الهادي أبي حسنٍ

حقّاً فأعدِدْ لريبِ الدهرِ تِجفافا

حقّاً فأعدِدْ لريبِ الدهرِ تِجفافا

If you are among the followers of the guide, Abu Hasan,

If you are truly of the Shi'a of Abu Hasan al-Hadi

truly, then prepare armor against the vicissitudes of time.

Then prepare yourself for the calamities of time

إن البلاءَ مُصيبٌ كُلَّ شيعتِهِ

إن البلاءَ مُصيبٌ كُلَّ شيعتِهِ

فاصبِر ولا تك عند الهمِّ مِقْصافا

فاصبِر ولا تك عند الهمِّ مِقْصافا

Indeed, affliction befalls all his followers,

Truly tribulation strikes all of his Shi'a

so be patient, and do not be easily broken in the face of sorrow.

So be patient and do not collapse in grief
