وكانَ له أخاً وأمينَ غيبٍ

وكانَ له أخاً وأمينَ غيبٍ

على الوحيِ المنزّلِ حينَ يُوحى

على الوحيِ المنزّلِ حينَ يُوحى

He was a brother to him and a trusted keeper of secrets,

He had a brother and trustworthy confidant

Concerning the revelation sent down as it was revealed.

Of revelation when it was revealed

وكان لأحمَد الهادي وزيراً

وكان لأحمَد الهادي وزيراً

كما هارون كان وزيرَ موسى

كما هارون كان وزيرَ موسى

And he was a minister to Ahmad, the guide,

And Ahmed the Guide had a minister

Just as Aaron was Moses' minister.

As Aaron was minister of Moses

وصيُّ محمدٍ وأبو بنيهِ

وصيُّ محمدٍ وأبو بنيهِ

وأوّلُ ساجدٍ للهِ صلَّى

وأوّلُ ساجدٍ للهِ صلَّى

Muhammad's legatee and the father of his sons,

Successor of Muhammad and father of his sons

And the first to prostrate himself to God in prayer

And first prostrator to God in prayer

بمكَّةَ والبريةُ أهلُ شركٍ

بمكَّةَ والبريةُ أهلُ شركٍ

وأَوثانٍ لها البَدَناتُ تُهدى

وأَوثانٍ لها البَدَناتُ تُهدى

In Mecca, while humankind practiced polytheism

In Mecca and the desert people of idolatry

And worshipped idols to which sacrificial camels were offered.

And idols to which sacrifices were made
