قال بُنيا النبيّ وابناهُ والبرَّ

ة والرُّوحُ ثالثٌ في قَرارِ
He said: [while] the Prophet, his two sons, and the virtuous
The Prophet said my two sons and the Righteousness
woman were in an abode, with the Spirit as a third,
And the Spirit third in the dwelling
إذwhen دعاcalled; invited شبّراًShabbar شُبيرShubayr فقالthen he said الthe (article continued)
إذ دعا شبّراً شُبير فقال ال
طُهرpure one للطاهراتِto the pure women والأطهارِand the pure men
طُهر للطاهراتِ والأطهارِ
when Shubayr called Shabbar, the
When he called Shubbur, Shubayr, so he said
pure one spoke to the pure women and men,
Purity for the pure ones and purities
لصراعٍfor a wrestling bout فقالَthen he said أحمدُAhmad هيّاcome on! ياO
لصراعٍ فقالَ أحمدُ هيّا يا
حَسنٌHasan شُدَّpress hard! شِدّةstrength; force المِغوارِthe fearless warrior
حَسنٌ شُدَّ شِدّة المِغوارِ
for a wrestling bout; then Ahmad said, “Come, O
For a conflict, so Ahmed said: come on, O
Hasan, press hard with a fearless warrior’s strength!”
Goodness, endure the severity of battles
قالتshe said البَرّةُthe virtuous woman البتولةُthe chaste woman لّماwhen
قالت البَرّةُ البتولةُ لّما
سمعتْshe heard قولَهhis words بلاwithout إنكارِdisapproval; objection
سمعتْ قولَه بلا إنكارِ
The virtuous, chaste woman said, when
The Virgin said when
she heard his words, without disapproval:
She heard his words without denial
أتجرّيdo you encourage? الكبيرَthe elder والناسُّand the people طُرّاًall together
أتجرّي الكبيرَ والناسُّ طُرّاً
يَقصِدونthey favor; turn toward الصغارَthe younger ones دونَrather than الكبارِthe older ones
يَقصِدون الصغارَ دونَ الكبارِ
“Do you encourage the elder, while all people
Do you attack the elder and the people wildly
favor the younger rather than the older?”
Seeking the young instead of the elders?
قالhe said إذas; since كنتُI was فاعلاًdoing; acting إنindeed منthe one who يكfirst part of ‘shields’
قال إذ كنتُ فاعلاً إن من يك
نِفُfinal part of ‘shields’ هذاthis one عنfrom الورىhumankind مُتواريhidden
نِفُ هذا عن الورى مُتواري
He said: “As I was doing so, indeed, the one who

إنindeed جبريلGabriel قائلٌsaying مثلَthe same as قوليmy words
إن جبريل قائلٌ مثلَ قولي
فتىa youth النجدِvalor والنَّدىand generosity والوَقارِand dignity
فتى النجدِ والنَّدى والوَقارِ
Indeed, Gabriel says the same as I,
Gabriel's words are like my words
a youth of valor, generosity, and dignity.”
