رجلٌa man حوىpossessed إرثَthe inheritance of النبيِّthe Prophet محمدٍMuhammad
رجلٌ حوى إرثَ النبيِّ محمدٍ
قِسماًan allotted share لهfor him منfrom مَنزلِthe Dispenser of الأَقسامِshares
قِسماً له من مَنزلِ الأَقسامِ
A man who possessed the inheritance of the Prophet Muhammad,
as a share for him from the Dispenser of shares,
بوصيّةٍthrough a bequest قُضيتwas decreed لهfor him مخصوصةٍspecially reserved
بوصيّةٍ قُضيت له مخصوصةٍ
دونَto the exclusion of الأقاربِthe relatives منamong ذويthose possessing الأرحامِties of kinship
دونَ الأقاربِ من ذوي الأرحامِ
through a bequest decreed specially for him,
to the exclusion of relatives bound by blood.
ولقدand indeed دعاhe called upon العبّاسَal-‘Abbas عندat وفاتِهِhis death
ولقد دعا العبّاسَ عند وفاتِهِ
بقَبولهاto accept it فأضجّthen he cried out بالإعدامِpleading poverty
بقَبولها فأضجّ بالإعدامِ
And indeed, at his death he called upon al-‘Abbas
to accept it, but he loudly pleaded poverty.
فحباso he endowed الوصيَّthe appointed successor بهاwith it فقامَand he fulfilled بحقَّهاits due obligations
فحبا الوصيَّ بها فقامَ بحقَّها
لماwhen حَباهhe favored him بهاwith it علىover الأعمامِthe uncles
لما حَباه بها على الأعمامِ
So he bestowed it upon the appointed successor, who fulfilled its obligations,
when he favored him with it over the uncles.
