ولم تُرضِعْك مريمُ أمُّ عيسى

ولم تُرضِعْك مريمُ أمُّ عيسى

ولم يَكفُلك لقمانُ الحكيمِ

ولم يَكفُلك لقمانُ الحكيمِ

And Mary, the mother of Jesus, did not nurse you,

Nor did Luqman the Wise care for you.

ولكنْ قد تَضمُّكِ أمُّ سوءٍ

ولكنْ قد تَضمُّكِ أمُّ سوءٍ

إلى لَبَّاتها وأبٌ لئيمُ

إلى لَبَّاتها وأبٌ لئيمُ

But a wicked mother does clasp you

To her bosom—and a vile father too.
