بين الحطيم وزمزمٍ

والحجر والحجر المقبَّل

والحجر والحجر المقبَّل

Between al-Hatim and Zamzam,

Among the ruins and Zamzam

and the Hijr and the stone that is kissed,

And the stone and the stone kissed

للعاشقين بني الهوى

للعاشقين بني الهوى

أبداً مصارع ليس تجهل

أبداً مصارع ليس تجهل

for lovers, sons of passion,

For the lovers of passion

there are always places of death, not unknown.

Never ignorant battlefields

كم بالمحصب من علي

كم بالمحصب من علي

ل هوى طريحٍ لا يعلل

ل هوى طريحٍ لا يعلل

How many at al-Muhassab lie sick

How much in Muhassab is Ali

with love, laid low and unconsoled;

For the sake of fallen passion that cannot be blamed

وقتيل بين بين خي

وقتيل بين بين خي

ف منى وجمعٍ ليس يعقل

ف منى وجمعٍ ليس يعقل

and many a victim of parting between the Khayf

And a victim between the tents of Mina

of Mina and Jam‘, bereft of reason.

And a crowd that cannot reason
