In the evening they shed copious tears

between al-Aqiq and al-Liwa,

Between carnelian and pearls

دموعا كثرن فلو أنه

اتاهن وفد منى لارتوى

with tears so plentiful that, if

Had these tears come to me as an envoy from you

Mina’s delegation had come to them, it would have drunk its fill.

My thirst would have been quenched

لقد اتمنى زمانا يضم

بك الشمل وهو لقلبي هوى

Indeed, I long for a time that reunites
