And we drank virgin wine among the roses early in the morning;
In the early dawn we drank it with rose at morn
So it was our drink until midmorning the next day.
So it became for us rose until the late morn

When the white-clad man rose to pass it round,
When the washer of clothes rose to wash them
You imagined him hurrying with a rose-colored sleeve.
You'd think he was hurrying with rose-colored wine
