ساريةٌ في الظَّلامِ مُهدِيةٌ
إلىto النفوسِsouls الرَّدىdeath بلاwithout حَرَجِcompunction
إلى النفوسِ الرَّدى بلا حَرَجِ
A night-wanderer in the darkness, bestowing
A guiding light in the darkness
Death upon souls without compunction;
Leading weary souls without reproach
شائلةٌholding aloft فيin ذنيبِهاher little tail حُمَةًa venomous sting
شائلةٌ في ذنيبِها حُمَةً
كأنهاas though she were سبْجةٌa jet bead منof السَّبَجِjet
كأنها سبْجةٌ من السَّبَجِ
Holding aloft a venomous sting in her little tail,
Trailing behind her a veil of modesty
As though she were a bead of jet.
As though a bracelet of sabij
