وحيَّةٍand a serpent فيin رأسِهاits head دُرَّةٌa pearl
وحيَّةٍ في رأسِها دُرَّةٌ
تَسبَحُswims فيin بحرٍa sea قصيرِshort المَدىthe extent
تَسبَحُ في بحرٍ قصيرِ المَدى
And a serpent with a pearl in its head
A snake with a gem on its head
Swims in a sea of limited extent.
Swims in a sea of little span
إنْif هيit غابَتْdisappeared فالعَمىthen blindness ظَاهِرٌevident
إنْ هي غابَتْ فالعَمى ظَاهِرٌ
وإنْand if بَدَتْappeared بانَbecame clear طريقُthe path الهُدىguidance
وإنْ بَدَتْ بانَ طريقُ الهُدى
If it disappears, blindness is evident;
If it disappears, blindness prevails
And if it appears, the path of guidance becomes clear.
If it appears, the path of guidance is clear
