ولم يشاهد من ظاهري سمنا
Whoever has not discerned a mark of my inner self,
He who perceived within me no flaw
nor observed fatness in my outward form,
And outwardly witnessed in me no blemish
لمdid not ألقI find ليfor me فيin ضميرهhis heart مقةًaffection
لم ألق لي في ضميره مقةً
ولمand did not أصادفI encounter ليfor me عندهwith him مقتاhatred
ولم أصادف لي عنده مقتا
I have found no affection for me in his heart,
Harbored no hatred for me in his soul
nor encountered any hatred for me in him.
