لماwhen زهىflourished زهرُblossoms الربيعspring بروضهin its garden
لما زهى زهرُ الربيع بروضه
وغداand became لهfor it فضلٌexcellence يبينis evident عليهupon it
وغدا له فضلٌ يبين عليه
When spring’s blossoms flourished in its garden,
When spring's flowers bloomed in the meadow,
And its excellence became plain to see,
Revealing their excellence,
قامrose الحمامُthe doves لهfor it خطيباًas an orator بالثناwith praise
قام الحمامُ له خطيباً بالثنا
وجرىand flowed الغديرُthe brook فخرthen fell prostrate بينbetween يديهits two hands
وجرى الغديرُ فخر بين يديه
The doves rose as its orator, singing praise,
The dove arose to eulogize them,
And the brook flowed, then fell prostrate before it.
While the brook flowed proudly before them.
