تسودturns black فيin عينيmy eyes الدنياthe world فلمand not (past negation) أرهاI see it
تسود في عيني الدنيا فلم أرها
تبيضturn white إلاexcept إذاwhen ماemphatic particle كنتI was فيin النيلthe Nile
تبيض إلا إذا ما كنت في النيل
