زارت وفي معصمها إذ أتت
سلسلةٌa chain زادتincreased غراميmy passion ولهlovesick bewilderment
سلسلةٌ زادت غرامي وله
She visited, and on her wrist as she came
She came with a bracelet on her wrist,
was a chain that added frenzy to my passion.
Adding to my love and passion for her.
وبددتand scattered عقليmy wits فيin نظمهاits linked arrangement
وبددت عقلي في نظمها
فهأناso here I am المجنونthe madman فيin السلسلةthe chain
فهأنا المجنون في السلسلة
And it scattered my wits amid its ordered links,
It scattered my reason in its rhythm,
so here I am, the madman in the chain.
And so I became the madman in chains.
