يفهspeak بكلامwith words قطever فيat ساعةِthe time of الضربِthe beating
يفه بكلام قط في ساعةِ الضربِ
Oh, what a wonder—a patient, silent one who did not
Oh, what a wonder is the silent sufferer who
utter a word, ever, at the time of beating.
Has never uttered a word in the hour of calamity,
أقامhe stayed ولمand he did not يبرحleave مكاناًa place ثوىhe settled بهin it
أقام ولم يبرح مكاناً ثوى به
علىdespite أنهthe fact that he أضحىhe came to يدورُhe spins علىupon الكعبthe heel
على أنه أضحى يدورُ على الكعب
He stayed and never left the place where he had settled,
He stood his ground and did not budge from where he stayed
although he came to spin upon his heel.
