O lady, poetry indeed has a miraculous power
O you, verily poems have a miracle
That endures from forebears past for posterity.
That remains from past ancestors to posterity

Place your dyed fingertips upon my body—
Place your fingers steeped in wine on my body
Withered—so that jujubes and shriveled dates may meet.
