صاح إن لم أجد في كسب مال
هاتcome now قلtell ليto me باللهby God كيفhow أجودI am generous
هات قل لي بالله كيف أجود
O friend, if I do not strive to earn wealth,
Shout if I do not find in earning money
Come now, tell me, by God, how can I be generous?
Come tell me for God's sake how can I be generous
وإذاand if لمnot أسدI meet خلةthe need حرof a noble man
وإذا لم أسد خلة حر
هاتcome now قلtell ليto me باللهby God كيفhow أسودI become a leader
هات قل لي بالله كيف أسود
And if I do not meet a noble man's need,
And if I do not help a free man in need
Come now, tell me, by God, how can I become a leader?
Come tell me for God's sake how can I be virtuous
