قبلته يداي لما توفى

ولثمت الجبين حين تكلل

ولثمت الجبين حين تكلل

My hands kissed him when he died,

I kissed his hand when he passed away

and I kissed his brow when he was crowned.

And kissed his forehead when shrouded he lay

فسقى الله قبره من حبيبٍ

فسقى الله قبره من حبيبٍ

كان في الحالتين خير مقبل

كان في الحالتين خير مقبل

So may God water the grave of a beloved

May Allah water his grave with rain

who, in both states, was the finest one to be kissed.

From a loved one who was best in both way
