My companions said, when they saw one enamored of

My friend said when they saw my infatuation with her,

a beard whose time as cheek-down had passed:

"A beard that was once fragrant has now gone."

فات وقت الحسن منها قلت لا

فات وقت الحسن منها قلت لا

ذا إمامُ الفسق قد صلى قضا

ذا إمامُ الفسق قد صلى قضا

“Its time of beauty has passed.” I said, “No—

I said "No! Its time of beauty may have passed,

this is the imam of debauchery; he has offered a make-up prayer.”

But if the imam of sinfulness has prayed, his prayers are accepted."
