نزلت بالرحبة التي وخمت

وجاورتها العدى وذي محنه

I lodged in al-Rahba, which had grown unwholesome.

I alighted in the spacious valley surrounded,

Enemies dwelt beside it, and this was an ordeal.

Inhabited by foes and those in distress,

تدمر من حل في جوانبها

تدمر من حل في جوانبها

وشربه من مياهها السخنه

وشربه من مياهها السخنه

It destroys whoever settles in its environs,

It destroys whoever settles on its outskirts,

and whose drink comes from its hot waters.

And drinks from its searing waters,

وإن يفته طاعون بقعتها

وإن يفته طاعون بقعتها

فلم يفته من العدا طعنه

فلم يفته من العدا طعنه

And if he escaped the plague of its land,

And if the plague misses its settlements,

he did not escape a stab from the foes.

It will not miss the stab of its foes.
