I complain to God of troubles
I complain to God of matters
that embitter my life whenever they pass,
That pass through my life as they pass
ودملٍand a boil معwith دوامِcontinuance ليلٍnight
ودملٍ مع دوامِ ليلٍ
ماnot لهماfor the two of them ماas long as حييتI live فجرdawn; bursting open
ما لهما ما حييت فجر
and of a boil, together with an unending night:
And from the constant night gloom and fatigue
neither has a dawn as long as I live.
That as long as I live, have no dawn
