كمhow much للبريديfor al-Baridi حيرةًbewilderment فيin الدجاthe darkness
كم للبريدي حيرةً في الدجا
يظلhe remains منهاbecause of it فيin عناdistress معجزِcrippling
يظل منها في عنا معجزِ
How much bewilderment al-Baridi feels in the darkness!
How lost the Partridge is in the fog
Because of it, he remains in crippling distress.
Remaining there a miracle in our eyes
كأنهas though he were البركارthe drawing compass منfrom دهشةٍbewilderment
كأنه البركار من دهشةٍ
فدورهso his turning أضحىhas become علىaround مركزa center
فدوره أضحى على مركز
As though, from bewilderment, he were a drawing compass,
As if it were the compass in shock
so now he turns around a center.
So its circles have centered and stabilized
