روى حسنه عن عارض فوق خده

ومبسمه معنى يروق ويبهج

ومبسمه معنى يروق ويبهج

His beauty narrated, on the authority of the down upon his cheek

He narrated her beauty from a mole above her cheek

And his smiling mouth, a meaning that charms and gladdens:

And her smile conveys a pleasing and delighting meaning

بأخضر يعلو أحمرا فوق أبيض

بأخضر يعلو أحمرا فوق أبيض

فقلت لهم هذا الحديث المدبج

فقلت لهم هذا الحديث المدبج

With green rising over red above white.

With green overcoming red over white

So I said to them, “This is the brocaded narration.”

So I said to them this is the embroidered narrative
