  1. ولقد حللت ببلدة حاشى لظى

    وقبيح منظرها الشنيع الحالك

    I did indeed lodge in a town—with apologies to Hellfire

    and its ugly, hideous, pitch-dark appearance.

  2. وسعت لأنواع الهموم على الفتى

    فلذاك سموها برحبة مالك

    It made room for every kind of sorrow to beset a man;

    that is why they named it Rahbat Malik.
