well-mannered in movement and stillness.
فإذاthen, whenever دعاهinvite him لمجلسٍto a gathering ندماؤُهُhis drinking companions
فإذا دعاه لمجلسٍ ندماؤُهُ
يأتىhe comes ويجلسand sits فيهin it بالقانونwith the qanun (zither)
يأتى ويجلس فيه بالقانون
Whenever his drinking companions invite him to a gathering,
he comes and sits there with the qanun.
