I woke him from his slumber after inflammation had struck

His eyes—may no pain touch him thereafter.

قد زرته وسيوف الهند مغمدةٌ

وقد نظرت إليه والسيوف دمُ

I had visited him while the swords of India were sheathed;

And I have gazed upon him while the swords were blood.
