Flowed when my wretched state became apparent,
أتوهمنيWould you have me believe أنهاthat they are رحمةٌcompassion
أتوهمني أنها رحمةٌ
وماهيand they are not إلاbut دموعtears الدلالcoquetry
وماهي إلا دموع الدلال
Would you have me believe they are compassion?
Yet they are nothing but tears of coquetry.
