  1. تطلبت رزقي بالقناعة في الورى

    ولم أبتذل من أجل قوتي قوتي

    I sought my livelihood through contentment among humankind,

    And did not debase my strength for the sake of my sustenance.

  2. ومذ خفت ضيق السبل في طلب الغنى

    رتعت بأمن في مروت مروتي

    And when I feared the narrowness of the paths in seeking wealth,

    I grazed in safety in the barren expanses of my honor.
