To have refined taste in the realm of metaphor
وكسبand attaining علوeminence فيin علومٍbranches of learning إذاwhen أتىhe comes
وكسب علو في علومٍ إذا أتى
إلىto بابهits door ألقتthey cast aside حجابthe veil حجازهits barrier
إلى بابه ألقت حجاب حجازه
and the attainment of eminence in branches of learning which, when he comes
And to gain height in sciences, so when
to its door, cast aside the veil of its barrier.
