فقوى التصبر عندها متلاشيه
A sultan of beauty—if his eyelids strike,
The beauty of Sultan Hasan, when unveiled,
Then the powers of patient endurance vanish before them.
The fortitude to endure it disappears,

حملت له نفس المتيم غاشيه
When, by virtue of his beauty, he went forth in procession,
When his beauty paraded in procession,
The lovesick one's soul bore a saddlecloth for him.
My infatuated soul was overwhelmed.
